As a Revenue Accountant at ThoughtSpot, you will be a key contributor to our global finance organization during an era of unprecedented innovation. ThoughtSpot is currently leading the data revolution, utilizing AI-Powered Analytics and Generative BI to help companies turn data into instant insights. In this role, you will sit at the intersection of sales operations and financial reporting, ensuring that every transaction reflects our commitment to accuracy and integrity. You will support the end-to-end order-to-cash process, working closely with the whole Revenue team to manage monthly close activities and maintain a "SOX-ready" environment. This position offers a unique view into the mechanics of a high-growth, pre-IPO SaaS leader, providing you with the mentorship and technical challenges needed to rapidly advance your career in specialized accounting.

What You'll Do

  • Revenue Operations: Manage the daily processing of customer contracts, ensuring sales orders are accurately reflected in our accounting systems and aligned with ASC 606 revenue recognition standards.
  • AI-Enhanced Analysis: Leverage generative AI tools and ThoughtSpot’s own platform to identify anomalies in large datasets, and provide real-time visibility into revenue metrics.
  • Agentic Revenue: Don’t just process contracts—automate them. You will assist with building, deploying, and maintaining AI agents using ThoughtSpot’s internal tools to handle data extraction, contract comparison, and revenue scheduling.
  • Month-End Execution: Drive the revenue close process by preparing journal entries, reconciling deferred revenue accounts, and ensuring all schedules are completed with accuracy on a tight close schedule.
  • Contract Intelligence: Utilize AI-assisted tools to help summarize complex contract terms and identify potential revenue recognition risks or performance obligations more efficiently.
  • Audit Readiness: Assist in the preparation of audit workpapers and provide supporting documentation for quarterly and annual audits, maintaining a high standard of organized, corroborative evidence.
  • Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to streamline the order-to-cash workflow, leveraging our tech stack and emerging AI automation to reduce manual tasks and improve the speed of financial reporting.

What You'll Bring

  • Core Accounting Skills: 3+ years of professional accounting experience, with a solid foundational understanding of ASC 606 and the specific nuances of SaaS and Professional Services revenue.
  • AI Fluency & Curiosity: A proactive interest in using Generative AI and LLMs to automate repetitive tasks, draft documentation, or enhance data manipulation workflows.
  • Attention to Detail: A "detective" mindset with the ability to spot discrepancies in large datasets and a commitment to maintaining pristine financial records.
  • Technical Toolkit: Strong proficiency in Excel and experience with NetSuite and Salesforce is highly preferred.
  • Analytical Communication: The ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal teams, using data-backed insights to resolve contract issues and provide status updates.
  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; candidates working toward their CPA or with initial Big 4/public accounting experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Growth Mindset: A desire to work in a fast-paced AI company where processes evolve quickly and adopting new technological tools is part of the daily routine.

Spotters are encouraged to experience the energy of their local office with an in-office expectation of 2-3 days per week. The estimated annual salary range for this role is $70,000 – $100,000 per year.

Actual compensation may vary and will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and location of the selected candidate.

  • Comfortably and confidently integrate artificial intelligence into their daily workflow to increase productivity and quality.
  • Hands-on experience to leverage AI tools (industry-leading LLMs) to increase productivity, automate routine tasks, and improve work quality.
  • Speak to the experience of using AI for research, content creation, and document summarization while maintaining ownership of judgment and final decisions.
  • Write effective prompts to get the most accurate and creative results from AI tools.

  • Adaptability to quickly learn and implement new, emerging AI technologies
