The Role

At ThoughtSpot, the North America Technical Architect is a strategic member of the Global Technical Architect organization. This role partners with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Customer Success, and Professional Services teams to provide technical leadership across the customer lifecycle - from Proof of Value through deployment, adoption, and expansion.

Supporting both Commercial and Enterprise segments, the Technical Architect ensures scalable architecture, mitigates technical risk, and drives architectural consistency across engagements. This role collaborates closely with Product Management and Engineering to represent the voice of the customer and influence roadmap direction.

What You’ll Do:

● Lead architectural strategy and risk mitigation for complex and high-impact opportunities

● Design and validate scalable solutions aligned to modern cloud data platforms

● Partner with account teams to accelerate PoVs and ensure implementation feasibility

● Serve as a trusted technical advisor during PoV’s, deployments, health checks, and expansion initiatives

● Act as an escalation point for performance, security, governance, and integration challenges

● Develop reusable architectural patterns and best practices

● Support and elevate field teams through architectural guidance and knowledge sharing

● Provide structured field feedback to Product and Engineering to influence feature development and scalability improvements

What You Bring:

● 8+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Solutions Engineering, Data Platform Architecture, or Technical Consulting

Broad knowledge across multiple technology stacks, with a strong foundation in database and BI architecture, including SQL, dimensional modeling, data warehousing, cloud data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift), BI tooling (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI), and ETL/ELT design

● Solid understanding of enterprise architecture principles, including security frameworks, governance, networking, secure connectivity, and identity/access management (SSO/SAML)

● Experience of influencing complex technical sales cycles and customer deployments

● Proven adaptability to new and emerging technologies and tools

● Strong executive communication skills and ability to translate both technical complexity into business value and business requirements into technical requirements

Preferred:

● AI/ML or AI-driven analytics experience

● Coding or application development experience

● API and embedded analytics experience

● Python or scripting experience

Impact

Success in this role is measured by increased PoV conversion, reduced deployment friction, improved customer retention and expansion, and meaningful field-informed contributions to product direction.

The estimated annual salary range for this role is $120k - $175k in most U.S. locations.

Actual compensation may vary and will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, qualifications, experience, and location of the selected candidate.
