Position Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned and highly skilled Plumbing Manager / Registered Master Plumber to help lead, manage, and grow our Plumbing Division. This pivotal role involves overseeing day-to-day operations within our plumbing team, ensuring the successful execution of all projects and services, and upholding the legal responsibilities of a Registered Master Plumber within our company.

Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead, supervise, and mentor a team of plumbers and helpers, ensuring high performance through task assignment, monitoring, and guidance.
  • Cultivate a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth.
  • Conduct regular meetings to communicate safety reminders, company goals, expectations, and address any team concerns or issues.
  • Project Management
  • Oversee all phases of plumbing projects, from planning and coordination to execution, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
  • Collaborate with the applicable team members to review project requirements, provide technical expertise, and prepare accurate cost estimates and proposals. Prepare and deliver proposals to Customers as applicable.
  • Monitor project progress, proactively identifying risks or delays, and implement solutions to maintain project timelines.
  • Resource Management
  • Collaborate with other managers, as applicable, to direct the allocation and utilization of resources, including equipment, materials, and labor, to maximize efficiency and productivity.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse & Operations to maintain an adequate inventory of materials and equipment, ensuring availability for upcoming projects.
  • Develop and implement strategies for resource optimization and waste reduction.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance
  • Ensure all plumbing projects meet the highest standards of quality and comply with industry codes, regulations, and safety guidelines.
  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks to verify workmanship and maintain customer satisfaction.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices, integrating them into departmental operations as appropriate.
  • Registered Master Plumber Responsibilities
  • Fulfill the legal obligations of the Registered Master Plumber for the organization.
  • Ensure all plumbing work complies with local, state, and federal regulations and codes.
  • Prepare, review, submit and/or approve plumbing plans, designs, and specifications for regulatory compliance.
  • Maintain accurate records, including permits, licenses, and inspection reports, ensuring they are up-to-date and accessible.
  • Customer Service
  • Work closely with dispatchers and other managers to make recommendations about daily schedules, identifying training opportunities, etc.
  • Oversee the on-call program and schedule, maintaining 24/7 Plumbing coverage. Participate in emergency on-call dispatching rotation if applicable.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints promptly and professionally, aiming for complete customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, enhancing the company’s reputation for quality and reliability.

Requires:

  • 10+ years of proven experience in plumbing project management, including estimating, planning, and execution.
  • Registered Master Plumber certification or license in Allegheny County.
  • Strong technical knowledge of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team.
  • Superior problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications and project management tools. Experience with ServiceTitan is strongly preferred.
