My Financial Partner is a subsidiary of Teamshares (a national, for-profit company helping American small businesses become employee owned. At My Financial Partner (MFP), our goal to be the preferred remote accounting and bookkeeping company for small businesses in the Teamshares network, empowering them to achieve their financial goals and grow their businesses. Teamshares is our parent company, a mission-driven startup that buys small businesses from retiring owners and transitions them into enduring, employee-owned businesses through our software, education, and community products. There wasn't an easy way for small businesses—which make up 98% of firms in the US economy—to become employee-owned before Teamshares. MFP plays a crucial role in supporting this ecosystem by handing their accounting needs and giving time back to focus on their core operations. MFP is only a year old and just getting started so we are seeking a passionate and experienced leader to head up this core accounting function, shaping it into an efficient, scalable operation for years to come.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute a strategic vision for MFP, transforming it into a future-proof and scalable model.
Lead a team of approximately 15 accounting professionals, providing coaching, mentorship, and technical guidance.
Lead the streamlining and automation of accounting processes to create a more efficient and scalable service.
Evaluate and implement technology solutions to enhance service delivery and team productivity.
Oversee the financial performance of MFP.
Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders within the Teamshares network.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, MBA or CPA preferred.
Proven experience establishing and running a shared accounting function.
A strong understanding of shared services best practices, including process optimization, technology implementation, and cost control.
10+ years of experience leading and motivating teams. A track record of fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Deep understanding of accounting principles and practices with a focus on small businesses.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels.
An entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for building and scaling a team and service offerings.
Strong analytical and financial modeling skills to oversee the financial health of MFP and develop a strategic roadmap for growth.
A continuous learner with a willingness to embrace new ideas and adapt to a dynamic business environment.
