We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Imaging Specialist to lead the technical aspects of pre-operative imaging. Including image system testing, image review, anatomical target planning, and image co-registration for Stentrode and Transceiver implantation. You will be responsible for ensuring accurate image-based guidance, anatomical marker placement, and procedural planning across Synchron clinical trials and early commercial programs. This position will serve as a key bridge between Clinical (imaging, procedural), R&D (technical) and Commercial teams. You will be the point person for collaborative programs and project development with third-party vendors or contributors.

Job Location

Field-based supporting individual clinical sites across the US. Range: 50–80% travel is common.

Nature of Travel:

  • Visiting hospitals, imaging centers or sites to support product testing, use or provide training.
  • Accompanying Clinical Representatives or Commercial teams.
  • Attending conferences, workshops, or internal company meetings.

Territory: National, but may be international for future global sites or clinical work.

Duration: Typically 1–3 days per trip, occasionally longer for initial product trials or testing.

Key Responsibilities

Imaging Review & Targeting

- Lead the review of pre-procedural imaging (CT, CTV, MRV, DSA) for target planning and eligibility assessment preparation for Synchron clinical trial.
- Identify, evaluate and utilize various viewer tools to place anatomical markers and assess venous anatomy.
- Identify the target anatomical and vascular landmarks; guide determination of procedural targets.
- Coordinate with physicians and staff, and third-party personnel on imaging preparation and review.

- Coordinate and lead the test and validation process for all potential clinical sites imaging equipment

Image Co-Registration & Workflow

- Oversee and support system-based co-registration processes during implant procedures.
- Ensure correct integration of pre-op imaging with intraoperative fluoroscopy (CT+, DSA+).
- Troubleshoot image fusion and digital marker placement issues in real-time.

Procedure Support

- Provide intra-procedural technical guidance related to targeting, device positioning, and imaging co-registration.
- Support manual targeting when automated workflows are not viable using anatomical landmark estimation.

Data Management

- Ensure accurate pseudonymization and submission of trial and procedural related imaging data.
- Lead and manage appropriate data transfer process

- Contribute to imaging SOPs, training materials, and anatomical targeting guidelines.
- Review third party feedback, resolve image queries, and ensure data integrity across studies.

Program Development

- Design, develop and initiate a reliably repeatable imaging process for procedural use on commercial case after approval.
- Identify, develop and collaborate with key imaging company partners to support their expanded use case capabilities.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in radiological technology (RT), biomedical engineering, medical physics, neuroanatomy, or a related field.
- 3+ years’ experience in clinical imaging, image-guided procedures, or surgical navigation (neurointerventional, cardiology, or interventional radiology preferred).
- Proficient with CT imaging (including CT, CTV, Dyna-CT, Vaso-CT, etc.)

- Proficiency with DICOM image viewers and 3D re-slicing, co-registration, and marker placement tools.
- Familiarity with Siemens, Philips and other equivalent neuro imaging systems.
- Deep understanding of neuroanatomy, particularly motor cortex and venous vasculature.
- Proficiency with IT data transfer and IT security protocols for imaging data tag and transfer

- Project management and operations function within a clinical business environment

- Experience with PACS and various hospital imaging storage solutions

- Experience working in highly regulated clinical environments (EFS, IDE, or FDA-regulated trials).
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and ability to collaborate across clinical, surgical, and R&D teams.
- Ability to independently support and lead project execution in a fast-paced high intensity work environment

- Willingness to travel to clinical sites for procedural support and training.
