This role will sit in our San Francisco Headquarters.

What you’ll do

Responsibilities

  • Manage and provide oversight of our executive protection program.
  • Develop and execute risk appropriate mitigation plans based on threats models that are tailored to each individual’s needs.
  • Effectively manage services providers, ensuring an effective risk based program operating within a developed set of standard operating procedures. Provide feedback through service level agreements, quarterly business reviews and agreed key performance indicators.
  • Forecast and manage budgets accurately, make improvement and cost-efficiency suggestions and manage operations to budget.
  • Establish and maintain trust based relationships with executives and their administrative business partners.
  • Review, recommend, and procure equipment and technology deemed necessary to enhance the personal security of individuals.
  • Develop a protective intelligence framework to create comprehensive threat profiles unique to each individual.
  • Prepare and deliver executive briefings, training and reports.
  • Plan and coordinate personal security needs for internal and external events where a principal is present.
  • Conduct routine and rigorous quality assurance assessments on EP teams and emergency response teams.
  • Maintain professional relationships with government agencies, law enforcement and peers across the security industry.
  • Regularly perform site visits to assess vulnerabilities and ensure that all locations meet the required security standards for executive protection.
  • Organize and lead training sessions for EP team members, focusing on skills development and readiness to handle high-pressure situations and various security scenarios.
  • Work closely with internal departments such as Events, Travel, Intelligence, and FHOs to integrate their efforts with EP program requirements, ensuring a unified approach to executive safety.
  • Continuously assess the effectiveness of current strategies, programs, and tools, recommending improvements to maintain and enhance the quality and efficiency of our security measures to mitigate risks related to founder safety.

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • A minimum of 8 years multi-national security experience, including at least 2 years in executive protection.
  • Be an experienced program manager with a strategic mindset and service attitude, constantly working towards satisfying the needs of our users.
  • A solid understanding of core physical security risks and threats, and experience in developing effective and measurable programs in an international setting.
  • Be a great communicator and solid project manager, able to effectively prioritize and advance a number of projects happening simultaneously, often on tight deadlines.
  • A highly developed network of resources, cultivated through years of building relationships in the security industry, government and the tech community to ensure your effectiveness in a wide region with complex geopolitical, cultural, and business environments.
  • A deep understanding of protective intelligence and proven ability to apply sound judgment and use discretion when dealing with sensitive information.
  • To be able to travel internationally (when restrictions allow) up to 25% of the time, sometimes at short notice.
Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.
