Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

Stripe’s mission is to build the economic infrastructure for the internet. Enterprise Engineering is focused on accelerating the activation experience for Enterprise users. We tackle ambiguous, complex problems in a cross functional manner, and seek to completely automate the adoption of Stripe. Two key missions of the team is to 1) develop a configuration platform that further streamlines onboarding Enterprise users onto Stripe and 2) provide a consistently great and fast experience when migrating sensitive data onto Stripe or between Stripe accounts.

The team consists of backend and full stack engineers who tackle this user goal through scalable and secure infrastructure, dashboard interfaces and internal administrative tools.

What you’ll do

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, reliable and performant services and systems
  • Collaborate with other engineers across Stripe, as well as stakeholders across product, design, legal, and operations
  • Build easy to use systems that streamlines adoption of Stripe and enable safe migration of data
  • Scope and lead large projects with significant business impact, making effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation
  • Mentor and grow other engineers. Serve as a role model for designing, implementing, and operating great software systems
  • Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes

Who you are

  • Experience and strong intuition on building full stack applications, for both internal and external users
  • Ensure our infrastructure is extensible, scalable, reliable, and meets SLAs for both external and internal users
  • Hide complexity from our users behind simple yet powerful abstractions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, collaborating effectively with software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications

  • Strong product sense with ability to synthesize ambiguous ideas into compelling technical vision for products
  • Familiarity with go-to-market motions from discovery to onboarding so that our products are not only delightful to use, but become a selling point for enterprises

This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.
