About the team
The Stripe BaaS team enables users to build and launch successful card programs and financial features into their product using powerful programmatic APIs. The team creates the infrastructure, user facing abstractions, and partner integrations needed to manage the lifecycle of a card, enable money movement, and increase spend. This is a great opportunity to help build one of Stripe's fastest growing businesses. Our top users span fintechs to large enterprises & cover a range of verticals including Buy Now Pay Later, vertical SaaS platforms, on-demand marketplaces, expense management platforms, fleet, travel & more.
What you’ll do
This role will place you in direct contact with our largest users. As a Senior Product Manager on the Stripe Issuing team you'll own growth for the US market. This involves partnering with users and industry players to become the market expert. Success requires increasing penetration by retaining existing users while also enabling Stripe to win new users and increase the rate of activations. This role will also work closely with marketing and PR teams to increase front of funnel leads and grow our position as a thought leader in the market. At times it will be necessary to represent the product at industry events.
Responsibilities
- Understanding the US market and its growth levers deeply, leverage on market and user research
- Design product strategies to increase adoption within specific market segments (i.e. Travel, Fleet)
- Represent product in new user deals contribute to design and cross functional engagement - win deals, increase chance of landing them
- Become the external face of Stripe Issuing product with our US users - bi-directional sharing goals, roadmap, plans - partner with users
- Act as the voice of the user in product and API designs, gathering direct feedback from customers
- Prioritize/design/ship features to address needs of existing users and support their growth
- Own the product experience for the lifecycle of an issuing user, from sign, activate, growth, and retention and associated outcomes
- Collaborate across Stripe with engineering, design, legal, risk, compliance, etc. early in the product development lifecycle to jointly shape products with elegant integrations
- Identify growth opportunities to partner with the networks/users for joint GTM to accelerate impact
- Partner with GTM teams to ensure they have inputs they need to be able to close deals
- Work with PMM on outbound positioning and communications proactively to spin marketing flywheels
- Work with PR/PMM to develop reactive comms to market changes - new regulation, or activity in the market
- Ensure we're building in a scalable, performant way
Who you are
We're looking for someone who:
- Brings 8+ years of experience in a product manager or lead role
- Has experience building platform and/or API products
- Has domain knowledge in financial services, particularly card issuing, funds storage
- Has ability to effectively communicate/influence founders/CEO/CTO/CPOs
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills with a talent for precise articulations of customer problems, and negotiating with users/partners
- Consulting experience preferred
- Prioritizes easy to understand developer documentation and technical integrations
- Can put themselves in the shoes of our users and be a steward of crafting great experiences
The annual US base salary range for this role is $178,600 - $268,000. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.
