Who We Are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About The Team

The Demo Engineering team is looking for product-focused engineers who are thoughtful about application design, high-polish user experiences, and great storytelling. We work to push Stripe’s mission of increasing the GDP of the internet by focusing our efforts on confidently showing users how our products work, not just telling them.

What You’ll Do

You will work on projects that span different products, technologies, systems, and processes that will enable teams across the globe to develop a deeper understanding of Stripe’s products while also being inspired by what they can build themselves. In this cross functional role, you will partner particularly closely with the Solutions Architecture team to build assets, including tools, environments, and demos, that accelerate Stripe’s ability to deliver the best view to our customers into our ability to solve for their use cases and business needs. You will additionally collaborate with experts across product, design, engineering, sales and marketing to build demo experiences that delight Stripe users.

  • Work with a wide range of products and technologies to own and build polished end-to-end examples of how Stripe’s products and solutions work
  • Build new internal tools to enable technical Go-To-Market staff the ability to quickly create their own demos of Stripe’s products
  • Uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to the many codebases and processes you will encounter
  • Provide domain expertise and insights to craft well articulated stories and narratives for sales
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization such as in product, design, sales, and marketing to design and build demos of Stripe’s newest products

Minimum Requirements

  • Has 2+ years of experience shipping high-quality user-facing products as a software engineer
  • Experienced in common web development languages and frameworks, such as Node, React, Next.js, Ruby, and Python
  • Familiar with common deployment infrastructure, such as AWS, GCP, and Render
  • Enjoys building products across the stack to delight and engage users
  • Familiar with common design tools like Figma
  • Is a well-rounded engineer with strong product sense, communication and storytelling skills and has an eye for design
  • Thrives in a collaborative environment involving different stakeholders and subject matter experts to build user-facing applications
  • Enjoys working with a diverse group of people with different areas of expertise and backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity and experience with demo creation tools in the market
  • Experience integrating Stripe or other RESTful APIs into web applications
  • Experience with online and in-person payments, subscriptions, card issuing, or other relevant concepts
  • Experience clearly communicating how products work together
  • Experience as a subject matter expert in a relevant industry, vertical or product
  • Experience building beautiful, responsive user interfaces using CSS frameworks.

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $100,400 - $150,600. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
