Who we are

About Stripe

Stripe is a financial infrastructure platform for businesses. Millions of companies—from the world’s largest enterprises to the most ambitious startups—use Stripe to accept payments, grow their revenue, and accelerate new business opportunities. Our mission is to increase the GDP of the internet, and we have a staggering amount of work ahead. That means you have an unprecedented opportunity to put the global economy within everyone’s reach while doing the most important work of your career.

About the team

The Partnerships Strategic Operations (PSO) team sits within the Global Partnerships organization and is a key component of Stripe’s success. The team is responsible for driving new partner implementations and programs and ensuring the efficiency and reliability of new and existing partners. We sit at the intersection of engineers and partners, serving as the fabric that ensures close and smooth collaboration between these parties, both of which are crucial to Stripe’s continued rapid growth.

What you’ll do

Under its newly formed Networks pillar, the team is building a new function to oversee Card Network Compliance. In this role, you will develop programs and processes around Stripe’s card network changes and the impacts to Stripe and its users. This is critical to ensure that we have proper awareness of ongoing card network announcements, strategies to improve our position, and drive operational efficiency as changes are made. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in building a function from the ground up and to help develop strategies in the best interest of Stripe and its users!

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Card Network release management and updates process for Stripe, advising all cross-functional partners on impacts and changes and ensuring Stripe is compliant with Network requirements
  • Provide thought leadership around complex network initiatives and changes to help develop strategies in the best interest of Stripe and its users
  • Work with product owners to build the forward-looking roadmap and refine the demand backlog
  • Interact with external network partners including joining councils, forums, and regular meetings
  • Serve as a Stripe advocate to ensure the Card Networks are considering Stripe’s perspective within the ecosystem
  • Consult user-facing teams on network changes so that they can effectively communicate user-impact externally
  • Manage the waiver request process with strategic-thinking and forward-looking mindset

Who you are

We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.

Minimum requirements

  • 8-10+ years of payments industry work experience, with significant experience working with card networks and card network rules/documents
  • A deep understanding of Acquiring platforms and systems and how they interact with card network products and processes
  • A track record of working well cross-functionally with product and engineering teams to shape new processes and strategies in partnership with them
  • Strong program and project management skills with ability to engage with and influence stakeholders outside of their direct control
  • Strong written and verbal communication with internal and external partners to influence change
  • An ability to flourish with minimal guidance and handle uncertainty and ambiguity as you shape a new program and function at Stripe
  • Strategic thinker able to identify cross functional issues, provide innovative solutions, and communicate the implications of solutions across existing processes, systems and teams

Preferred qualifications

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • The ability to prioritize and remain focused under pressure, and comfortable with ambiguity
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent problem solving abilities
  • Experience in a high growth technology company

This role is available either in an office or a remote location (typically, 35+ miles or 56+ km from a Stripe office).

Office-assigned Stripes spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This hits a balance between bringing people together for in-person collaboration and learning from each other, while supporting flexibility about how to do this in a way that makes sense for individuals and their teams.

A remote location, in most cases, is defined as being 35 miles (56 kilometers) or more from one of our offices. While you would be welcome to come into the office for team/business meetings, on-sites, meet-ups, and events, our expectation is you would regularly work from home rather than a Stripe office. Stripe does not cover the cost of relocating to a remote location. We encourage you to apply for roles that match the location where you currently or plan to live.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $122,200 - $183,300. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and location. Applicants interested in this role and who are not located in the US may request the annual salary range for their location during the interview process.

Additional benefits for this role may include: equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses; 401(k) plan; medical, dental, and vision benefits; and wellness stipends.
