We are hiring a Client Partner, Advertising Sales to join our team located in Washington, DC.
As the Client Partner, Advertising Sales you will:
- Build and own a book of business across public affairs, advocacy, corporate reputation, associations, and government-focused agencies
- Sell integrated advertising and thought leadership programs across digital media, content, newsletters, events, and new product offerings
- Cultivate senior-level relationships across clients (corporate & association) and agencies; serve as a trusted consultative partner
- Identify new opportunities and prospect continuously to expand revenue pipelines
- Guide go-to-market strategy with insights on policy advertiser needs, campaign objectives, and marketplace dynamics
- Collaborate with editorial, product, marketing, and leadership to develop innovative client solutions
- Provide accurate forecasts and pipeline reporting; manage full sales cycle from prospecting through renewal
- Represent State Affairs professionally at client meetings, industry events, and policy convenings
Essential Qualifications for this position include:
- 7+ years of professional work experience in in digital media or public policy advertising sales
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence internal stakeholders
- Ability to present, pitch and negotiate
- Ability to be entrepreneurial and capable of prospecting, experimenting, and shaping new opportunities
- Knowledge of client and agency relationships within public affairs, policy advocacy, or corporate affairs sectors
- Prior professional experience track record of delivering against >$1 million sales targets
- Knowledge of consultative selling, storytelling, and packaging high value solutions
- Knowledge of the policy and advocacy landscape across multiple U.S. regions
Preferred Qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Prior professional work experience in a start-up organization
This is an onsite work opportunity and our teams operate from the Washington, DC office located at L and 15th St. NW at least 5 (five) days per week. State Affairs offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package to employees.
The compensation range for this role as it is posted is $150,000 to $225,000 (On-Target Earnings) for candidates working from the State Affairs office in Washington, DC. The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity. Benefits listed in this posting may vary depending on the nature of your employment with State Affairs.
