The Role
We are hiring a Head of Risk to own portfolio outcomes across the business.
This role carries direct responsibility for underwriting quality, risk-adjusted growth, covenant compliance, and the translation of machine-learning outputs into product, marketing, and customer experience decisions. The Head of Risk operates as both a portfolio-level decision maker and a cross-functional operator, working closely with ML, Product, Growth, Finance, and Legal.
What You’ll Own
Portfolio & Underwriting
Own credit, fraud, and repayment outcomes across the portfolio.
Set approval, pricing, and control strategies based on portfolio-level risk.
Make and stand behind growth vs. risk trade-offs.
ML Underwriting & Controls
Product owner for ML underwriting systems and risk controls.
Translate business risk into technical requirements for ML teams.
Define production success metrics and govern models post-deployment.
Risk-Adjusted Growth
Partner with Product, Growth, and CX on risk-aware expansion.
Evaluate new channels and features through a portfolio lens.
Lender & Covenant Stewardship
Own performance triggers, covenants, and lender-facing risk reporting.
Proactively manage risk to stay within capital constraints.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Operate as a trusted partner across ML, Product, Growth, CX, Finance, and Legal.
Build scalable risk systems and decision frameworks.
What We’re Looking For
Senior ownership experience in credit risk, fraud, underwriting, or portfolio management.
Strong quantitative foundation with practical judgment around model limitations.
Proven ability to translate model outputs into business and product decisions.
Experience operating within capital, covenant, or performance constraints.
Clear judgment under ambiguity and willingness to own hard decisions.
Ability to build trust across technical, commercial, and executive stakeholders.
