Sourcing Manager

Position Overview:
SingleStore is seeking a Sourcing Manager. We do not have inventory and are not seeking supply chain procurement managers, but instead the ideal candidate will have experience in sourcing software and service contracts.
In this critical role, you will oversee, execute and manage contracts from RFP to payments to ensure we reduce costs and maximize value on our vendor contracts. The ideal candidate will have experience in contract negotiation, procurement, and contract management, particularly with software and service contracts. This role will involve close collaboration with various internal and external teams to establish best-in-class procurement strategies, manage existing vendor relationships, establish new vendor relationships, and create contractual frameworks.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Source new suppliers to increase competitive pricing from existing suppliers to continuously drive down costs. Success can be measured as a direct reduction of expenses year over year.
- Contract negotiation, procurement, and contract management with a particular focus in software subscriptions and service contracts. This role will oversee the negotiation, financial analysis, risk analysis, drafting/redlining, and execution of new vendor contracts, ensuring favorable commercial terms, risk mitigation, and alignment with business goals.
- The ideal candidate will manage the lifecycle of procurement contracts, including tracking deadlines, renewals, and obligations. This role will also track and report procurement expenditures, ensuring budgets are adhered to and financial goals are met in addition to supporting the preparation of procurement-related financial reports for management and stakeholders, such as reporting on greenhouse emissions.
- For the right candidate, developing and maintaining a supplier database will be the start of creating formal processes and procedures in selecting and evaluating suppliers. Duties will include creating SOPs for supplier management from onboarding to contract terminations.
- This key role will establish a sourcing framework for US headquarters and then roll out standardized procedures across the globe for our EMEA and APAC subsidiaries.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 5 years of experience in procurement and contract management, demonstrating progressive growth in responsibilities
- Knowledge of procurement software, ERP systems, Excel and contract management tools (experience with Coupa would be a plus!)
- Strong negotiation skills, in-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles and best practices
- Interested in creating and carving out a new role. High interest in learning and growing in the role and Company is open to paying for job-related learning such as Coupa certifications and negotiation masterclasses, etc.
- A bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, or another relevant field is preferred
