About The Company:

At Scribd (pronounced “scribbed”), our mission is to spark human curiosity. Join our team as we create a world of stories and knowledge, democratize the exchange of ideas and information, and empower collective expertise through our three products: Everand, Scribd, and Slideshare.

We support a culture where our employees can be real and be bold; where we debate and commit as we embrace plot twists; and where every employee is empowered to take action as we prioritize the customer.

When it comes to workplace structure, we believe in balancing individual flexibility and community connections. It’s through our flexible work benefit, Scribd Flex, that employees – in partnership with their manager – can choose the daily work-style that best suits their individual needs. A key tenet of Scribd Flex is our prioritization of intentional in-person moments to build collaboration, culture, and connection. For this reason, occasional in-person attendance is required for all Scribd employees, regardless of their location.

So what are we looking for in new team members? Well, we hire for “GRIT”. The textbook definition of GRIT is demonstrating the intersection of passion and perseverance towards long term goals. At Scribd, we are inspired by the potential that this can unlock, and ask each of our employees to pursue a GRIT-ty approach to their work. In a tactical sense, GRIT is also a handy acronym that outlines the standards we hold ourselves and each other to. Here’s what that means for you: we’re looking for someone who showcases the ability to set and achieve Goals, achieve Results within their job responsibilities, contribute Innovative ideas and solutions, and positively influence the broader Team through collaboration and attitude.

About the Team:

We’re a small but mighty team, passionate about cultivating a culture of belonging by fostering community and investing in human connection. We obsess over the details that make people feel welcome, engaged, and celebrated.

Our work shows up in real, everyday ways: we design thoughtful onboarding and unforgettable offsites, plan events that connect people across teams and time zones, and manage the details that make our office a place worth the occasional commute. We write internal comms that resonate and run wellbeing programs that support balance across body, mind, and soul. All of it is grounded in our values — and built to last.

If you’re someone who can dream big, sweat the details, and build with both empathy and edge — you’ll thrive here. The work is meaningful. The heart is real. Let’s make magic.

About the Role:

We’re looking for a highly organized, passionate, and creative Senior People Experience Coordinator to join our team. This role is based in San Francisco and requires an in-office presence on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, plus additional days as required for events, onsite support, and workplace needs. Here’s what the job entails:

Event & Experience Coordination:

You’ll be the driving force behind the programs that bring Scribd’s culture to life — from everyday connection moments to major company gatherings, both virtually and in-person.

  • Own the research, recommendation, and booking of regular wellbeing events, volunteering, and other projects. This includes in-person and virtual events to ensure all employees feel included regardless of physical location.

  • Collaborate on the planning and execution of Scribd’s signature experiences including traditions like Hack Week and the Talent Show, all-company offsites, and inclusive holiday events.

  • Own logistics for monthly Hub Days across SF and other Hub cities — including venue sourcing, food coordination, budget tracking, and collaboration with local organizers.

  • Run point on SF in-office event execution, from vendor coordination to setup and cleanup.

  • Collaborate on communications to promote events in fun, engaging ways.

  • Research new vendors and brainstorm new experiences that surprise and delight.

Workplace & Office Experience:

You’ll own the day-to-day experience of our SF office, making it feel like a place people want to be.

  • Keep the office running smoothly: order supplies, purchase and stock snacks, manage weekly lunch orders, and maintain general upkeep and tidiness of the space.

  • Coordinate with building vendors for janitorial, maintenance, and security needs.

  • Welcome visitors and new hires; serve as a friendly, helpful onsite presence.

  • Support logistics for SF onsite meetings, company events, and Hub Days.

Budget & Data Tracking:

You’ll bring structure and insight to the work we do — ensuring we invest wisely and learn from what we create.

  • Maintain accurate budget tracking across all PeopleX programs, events, and purchases.

  • Complete monthly expense reports and reconcile PeopleX credit card activity.

  • Track participation, engagement, and sentiment across events, surfacing actionable insights to inform future planning.

  • Innovate new ways to gather program feedback and measure impact.

Celebration & Recognition:

You’ll help ensure Scribd’s culture shows up in the moments that matter — with warmth, thoughtfulness, and precision.

  • Manage swag and gifting fulfillment for new hires, milestones, and life moments (baby kits, condolences, spot recognition, etc.).

  • Proactively maintain swag inventory and vendor relationships for gifting programs.

  • Support creative ideation around gifts, gestures, and experiences that make people feel seen and appreciated.

Team & Cross-Functional Support:

You’ll be a trusted advisor and partner to the broader People team (HR, Talent, and PeopleX) and beyond.

  • Collaborate with the People team, ERG leads, IT, and employees company-wide.

  • Manage relationships with numerous external vendors and suppliers.

  • Report into the People Experience Manager.

Who You Are (Requirements):

  • 3–5 years of experience in Workplace Experience, Corporate Event Planning, and/or Cultural Program Management.

  • Willing and able to be in the SF office at least two days a week (Tues & Weds) — and extra days for special events or team needs.

  • Passionate about bringing people together and designing memorable moments of connection.

  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail — you take pride in flawless execution.

  • A creative problem-solver who is calm under pressure — you adapt quickly and keep things moving with grace.

  • Inclusion comes naturally to you — you consider access, representation, and belonging from the start.

  • A clear, compelling communicator across formats — whether it’s a Slack post, a virtual meeting, or signage at an event.

  • Comfortable with budget tracking, metrics, and light data storytelling.

  • Self-starter who thrives in both independent and collaborative work.

  • Tech-savvy and confident using Google Workspace, Zoom, Slack, Concur, etc.

Traits That Would Set You Apart:

  • Experience engaging employees across a distributed workforce.

  • A track record of organizing large-scale virtual or in-person events.

  • Confidence managing vendors, contracts, and external relationships.

  • Experience creating visually appealing graphics and visuals to aid storytelling.

  • A great eye for vendors, gifts, or experiences that feel intentional and personal.
