About the team and role
The Frontend engineers at Scribd are building cutting edge web applications that are used by 100M+ monthly unique visitors and drive the majority of the revenue growth for Scribd. We are doing that while modernizing our tech stack and improving our user experience. The charter for this team includes most of the customer facing web apps such as onboarding, consumption, account management, and SEO.
We carefully deliver new features via experiments, also known as A/B tests, giving developers a safe path to validate improvements at our tremendous scale. Going forward, we are going to increase the number, velocity, and diversity of our experiments; To accommodate these new and different experiments, our codebase must be nimble, cohesive and easy to deploy. We strongly believe in building a solid infrastructure to help our product vision and maintain the health of the code base. We are working on moving our architecture to Next.js based React SPAs that are independently deployed, talking to a new GraphQL API, while building the tooling for a modern developer experience. Code size, speed, and aesthetics play a major role in our success.
