To achieve this, we are looking for a data scientist skilled in data pipeline development, database management, and cloud computing to join our team.

About the Team

The Data Science team is an integral part of the Scipher organization. As a Data Scientist you will work cross functionally supporting the technical team to develop and apply state-of-the-art computational and statistical methods to deliver testable hypotheses and biological insights across the organization.

What will I do?

  • Design and maintain bioinformatic pipelines to process, analyze and assess quality of multiomics data
  • Build cloud computing infrastructure to facilitate high throughput hypothesis testing
  • Assist in developing companies' platforms and algorithms in collaboration with the research team.
  • Summarize and communicate results to project teams, provide intellectual input, and contribute to decision-making.
  • Prepare and deliver scientific presentations for both internal and external use
  • Maintain knowledge latest scientific and technology advancements in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology
  • Contribute to high-quality documents and scientific publications
  • Partner methodically and in an organized and timely manner to produce high-quality data analysis, minimizing errors

Education and Qualifications

  • PhD in Statistics, Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Biological Sciences, or relevant fields
  • Background in working with multi-omics, specifically gene expression data
  • Experience in bioinformatics, systems biology, and statistics is a plus
  • Background in working with gene expression data
  • Skilled in machine learning is a plus
  • Proficiency in coding (R and python are preferable)
  • Familiarity with bioinformatics tools
  • Ability to work within a matrix team environment
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
