We are seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (Robotics) to act as the primary technical bridge between our GRID platform and our customers’ real-world deployments. In this role, you will be the expert responsible for onboarding new robots to the GRID platform, customizing implementations to specific use cases, and ensuring our AI-powered autonomous systems perform flawlessly in the field. Responsibilities
Independently set up and onboard customer robots to GRID.
Deploy pre-built AI models and robot programs to robots. Lead field evaluation efforts and manage associated edge compute and sensor packages.
Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to the GRID platform and its interaction with robot hardware.
Identify and drive opportunities for scaling customer value, including new use cases.
Translate field-tested patterns and customer requirements into scalable, automated features for the GRID platform.
Design data collection routines to acquire data from real tests for model fine tuning.
Minimum Requirements
Currently has or is in the process of obtaining a Masters degree in Robotics, Computer Science, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Must obtain work authorization in the country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment.
2+ years experience with development and implementation of robotics or machine learning algorithms, control algorithms.
Strong knowledge of robotics hardware and software stacks, such as ROS, and programming languages, such as Python, C++ etc.
Demonstrated experience in implementing and evaluating end-to-end robot learning systems.
Ability to travel up to 50% to customer sites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a technical consulting, field engineering, or solutions architecture role.
Experience building and deploying controllers, data acquisition pipelines, and machine learning or classical robotics algorithms on several robots in the past.
Experience using constrained edge compute devices such as NVIDIA Jetson for data acquisition and model inference.
Experience working with sensitive data and adhering to strict security protocols.
