About Sarvam

Sarvam is building the bedrock of Sovereign AI for India. The company is developing India’s full-stack sovereign AI platform, building across research, models, infrastructure and applications with a singular focus on making AI genuinely work for India. Sarvam works with leading enterprises and public institutions and is backed by Lightspeed, Peak XV, and Khosla Ventures. Sarvam partners with India’s leading brands, including Tata Capital, SBI Life, CRED, IDFC, and LIC.

About the Role

DevRel at Sarvam is part engineering, part content, part community — and the power is in how all three work together.

We define it through three pillars:

  • Code — SDKs, integrations, demos, cookbooks. You build things developers actually use.

  • Content — Docs, tutorials, blogs, quickstarts. You make it easy for developers to understand and ship.

  • Community — Discord, meetups, hackathons, office hours. You create the space where builders grow and connect.

But at the core of all three is empathy. A great DevRel engineer is a developer first — someone who has felt the frustration of a confusing API, a missing code example, or an unanswered support thread. You bring that lived experience to everything you do. You notice where developers get stuck, and you don't just fix the symptom — you take the insight back to the engineering team and help close the loop.

Feedback is not a side effect of this role. It's one of its most important outputs.

What You’ll Do

  • Build cookbook recipes and demos — write end-to-end code examples covering voice agents, multilingual RAG, document AI, and Indic-language applications using Sarvam APIs. Every recipe ships with a working "Open in Colab" notebook.

  • Improve SDK and docs DX — identify friction in the developer journey, identify issues, write fixes, and ship improvements to our Python SDK, TypeScript adapter, and docs site.

  • Create technical content — write blog posts, tutorials, and how-to guides that help developers build real things.

  • Support and grow the community — be present in our Discord (~10K members and growing), answer developer questions, triage issues, and help maintain our 24-hour response SLA in the #help channel.

  • Ship integrations — build and document integrations with platforms like LiveKit, LangChain, LlamaIndex, Vercel AI SDK, and Pipecat so Sarvam APIs feel native in the tools developers already use.

  • Track what matters — monitor SDK installs, cookbook usage, error rates, Discord activity, and integration adoption; surface insights that help the team prioritise.

What We're Looking For

  • You can write code and prose equally well. You're comfortable with Python (and ideally TypeScript), and you can explain what the code does to a developer who's seeing Sarvam for the first time.

  • You've shipped something real. A project, a repo, a blog post, a demo — something that reflects how you think and build. We care about this more than your GPA.

  • You're curious about language and AI. You don't need to be an ML researcher, but you should have a genuine interest in how speech, translation, and large language models work — especially in the context of Indian languages.

  • You write clearly. DevRel is a writing-heavy role. Docs, tutorials, Discord replies, commit messages — clarity of thought shows up in all of them.

  • You move fast and follow through. You can take a loosely defined brief and ship something polished without being hand-held.

  • You're community-minded. You enjoy helping other builders succeed. You don't find support tedious — you find it informative.

  • Bonus: You've participated in or organised a hackathon, have experience with voice/speech APIs, or have contributed to an open-source project.
