As Principal Platform Engineer, you will lead the engineering and strategic platform vision, working side by side with researchers to bridge the gap between the lab and the physical world.

It works on projects such as Evolutionary Model Merge, which combines open-source models using evolutionary computation, and AB-MCTS, an algorithm that enables multiple frontier models to cooperate at inference time. It also builds novel systems such as the Continuous Thought Machine, which leverages neuron synchronization to reason in time, and Transformer², a self-adaptive large language model that dynamically adjusts its weights for different tasks. Sakana AI has developed TAID, a distillation method that efficiently transfers knowledge from large models into compact ones, and ShinkaEvolve, a framework for evolving new algorithms via large-language-model-driven code search.
