At Sakana AI, we are advancing world-class R&amp;D through unique generative AI techniques inspired by nature. Our Product Team is on a mission to leverage our proprietary research to conceptualize and launch AI products that defy traditional boundaries. We are looking for a Product Manager to lead this charge. This is a full-time position based in Japan, regardless of the candidate’s background. Business-level or higher Japanese proficiency (JLPT N1 level is a guideline) is required. Business-level English proficiency is a plus.

Sakana AI is a research-oriented artificial intelligence company that develops biologically inspired and nature-driven AI architectures. It works on projects such as Evolutionary Model Merge, which combines open-source models using evolutionary computation, and AB-MCTS, an algorithm that enables multiple frontier models to cooperate at inference time. It also builds novel systems such as the Continuous Thought Machine, which leverages neuron synchronization to reason in time, and Transformer², a self-adaptive large language model that dynamically adjusts its weights for different tasks. Sakana AI has developed TAID, a distillation method that efficiently transfers knowledge from large models into compact ones, and ShinkaEvolve, a framework for evolving new algorithms via large-language-model-driven code search.
