Manager, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting
Company Overview
Rubrik is seeking a team-oriented and hands-on and independent Manager of Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting to join our fast-growing and dynamic company. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting and will have the opportunity to solve for technical accounting issues and assist in operational projects for a public company. This will include creating technical accounting documentation, driving the adoption of new standards, preparing financial statements, and designing "right-size" policies and processes related to new accounting pronouncements. Where you can make an impact:
- Lead the preparation of our external financial reports, including SEC filings (Form 10-Q, Form 10-K, and Form 8-K) and related disclosures.
- Research, evaluate, and document technical accounting issues and the application of new accounting pronouncements.
- Prepare high-quality technical accounting memos that are ready for external audit review.
- Perform accounting for complex areas which may include stock-based compensation, cloud computing arrangements, and other non-standard transactions such as M&A.
- Prepare and assist with external financial statements (including disclosures and footnotes) reviews and audits.
- Execute all responsibilities (including preparation of workpapers) incompliance with our SOX 404 internal control framework related to technical accounting and Financial Reporting.
- Assess the impact of new and proposed accounting pronouncement and standards to ensure compliance with SEC and US GAAP reporting requirements.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams (Legal,FP&A, Equity etc) to provide insights and recommendations on new programs and initiatives and related process improvements to standardize and streamline processes.
- Assist with or be responsible for other duties and ad-hoc projects as they arise.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting.
- CPA qualification.
- Strong proven experience and knowledge with SEC and US GAAP reporting requirements
- 7+ years of related accounting experience, with a minimum of 3 years in Big 4 public accounting.
- Experience in the technology, software, or SaaS industry.
- Experience with a US public company and SOX environments.
- Experience and familiarity with Stock based Compensation - ASC 718 ), Accounting for Business Combinations -ASC 805, Accounting for Standards codification Topic 260.
- Experience with Workiva, Equity Edge Online, Netsuite.
- Strong attention to detail, a sense of ownership, and a positive "can-do" attitude.
- Proven ability to research and document complex technical accounting issues.
- A problem-solver and analytical thinker with effective written and communication skills.
- Proven ability to adapt to change, work cross-functionally, and prioritize work to meet objectives and timelines.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
