About The Team

Our global accounting team is responsible for finalising financial statements of all subsidiaries in North America, EMEA, & APAC as per the required GAAP in the respective countries. They play a large part in ensuring compliance with related regulatory guidance, compliance with accounting policies and standards, practices, and principles. This team owns the process of accurate and timely closure of financial books of accounts, audit of financial statements, and auditing processes. They maintain and improve the overall control environment over reporting and handle the entire GL management, reviews, reconciliations, including controls/oversight.

About The Role

The position requires a well-rounded individual who has demonstrated the ability to manage global Indirect Tax compliance processes in a high-growth, dynamic, and fast-paced environment. You will use your interpersonal skills to collaborate cross-functionally with business partners in operating units to develop and maintain healthy stakeholder relationships. As a member of the GBS team in India, you will provide critical support, collaborate with the corporate global accounting and tax team, adhere to policies and procedures, and complete daily operational tasks. You will be reporting to the Senior Manager, Financial Reporting, based out of Bangalore.

What you'll do:

  • Preparation of VAT/GST returns for Rubrik’s various entities in the EMEA/APAC region
  • Coordinate with external service providers for VAT/GST filings
  • Monthly/Quarterly/Annual preparation and timely filing of U.S. Sales Tax Returns in 22 states
  • Process Sales Tax payments and prepare journal entries
  • Prepare and file a quarterly Canadian GST/HST return
  • Prepare business tax license registrations and other miscellaneous tax filings
  • Reconciliation of VAT & Sales tax accounts in Blackline
  • Working with the Tax Authorities for audit queries
  • Assisting the AP and AR team on VAT/GST and Sales tax issues and resolving questions
  • Research indirect tax issues and provide guidance as needed
  • Registering entities in regions as part of Rubrik’s growth in various regions
  • Review invoices in Coupa for tax validation
  • Maintain, review and update Sales Tax Exemption Certificates from Rubrik Customers

Experience you'll need:

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in accounting; CA / CPA is a plus
  • 7+ years of experience in the relevant indirect tax field
  • Strong knowledge of US, Canada and EMEA indirect taxes.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Blackline and Coupa is a plus
  • Superior organisation, prioritisation and planning skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Independent and self-starter
  • Ability to work well with others, including upper management and outside tax professionals
  • Intermediate-to-advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis (Macros, Pivot Tables and V-Lookup).
