About the team:
Jarvis is the observability team at Rubrik. This team’s mission is to build a highly-scalable and reliable observability platform that delivers meaningful insights across the company. Jarvis works on a high scale infrastructure handling terabytes of both streaming and batch data, with a mix of in house and managed / third party solutions. Teams served by Jarvis include engineering, product management, support, and marketing.

To address challenges of increasing year over year growth and high scale, this team is constantly re-imagining Rubrik’s observability platform. Because of the critical nature of observability data, availability and reliability around the clock is the foremost priority for this team.

About the Role:
Site Reliability Engineers at Rubrik are systems/software engineers who ensure that Rubrik's infrastructure services run smoothly and have the capacity for future growth.

What you’ll do:
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Manage and run backend systems like Kubernetes, spark engines and everything in between
Drive reliability, availability and efficiency improvements to Rubrik's Jarvis platform that spans multiple clouds.
Good mix of software and system engineering skills
Participate on-call rotations across continents, using a follow-the-sun model
Write and review code, plan and execute upgrades, develop documentation and capacity plans, debug production issues and improve security posture.
Work cross-functionally with various observability systems and engineering teams
Build monitoring tools and automation to increase efficiency of Jarvis systems
Drive blameless postmortems and operations reviews for core systems and services

Experience you'll need:

Minimum 3 - 9 years of experience as a Development, DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer
Versatility & experience in one or more of the following: Golang, Python, Java, Scala, C++
Experience & thorough knowledge in Azure or other public cloud technologies
Strong operational experience in scripting and automation.
Expertise in designing, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems
Proactive with a systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with strong communication skills and a sense of ownership and drive
Enjoys debugging, optimizing code and automating routine tasks
Experience working with multiple departments and divisions within an organization

Preferred Qualifications:

BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent
