PEOPLE & CULTURE

Rocket Lab’s People & Culture team is responsible for looking after our most valuable asset: our people. Across our global teams, the People & Culture team supports our people and departments across recruitment, new staff orientation, compensation, learning and development. They make sure our growing and diverse global team is supported and capable of delivering our projects and customer’s missions, and they’re responsible for supporting their development, nurturing their skills and talent, and retaining the world-class people already on our team.

PEOPLE AND CULTURE GENERALIST II / SENIOR

Based onsite at Rocket Lab's Albuquerque, NM Facility the Senior P&C Generalist will work in partnership with the P&C Team to provide overall P&C-related administrative program support. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, be flexible to change, and support a growing human resource team and organization. Will be responsible for partnering with the P&C team to ensure all initiatives and deliverables for the department are met. Must have a strong, customer focused approach to duties. The ability to prioritize, be organized, and detail oriented is essential to the role.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO

  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation; disciplinary matters; exit interviews; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity; recognition and morale; and training and development of new supervisors/managers.
  • Authority to initiate Corrective Action when a nonconformance is identified and stop the process when a nonconformance is found.
  • Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
  • Continuous new hire training on internal systems and policies.
  • Responds to all unemployment inquiries from the department of labor unemployment division.
  • Update Organization Chart on a monthly basis.
  • Provides administrative and clerical support to the human resources department to relieve department director of administrative details.
  • Assists in maintaining employee files and personnel records, processes change-of-status forms, compiles personnel statistics, and provides information to employees on matters pertaining to personnel forms and records.
  • Monitors and when needed conducts new hire orientations, to include presentation of the HR portion of orientation and creating/issuing new employee badges along with offboarding support.
  • Set up new employee profiles and personnel files, to include functions necessary to be completed before and after hire.
  • Backup to scheduling drug tests, submitting background check requests, and conducting employment verifications for new hires and converted employees.
  • Administrative tasks including: Monthly credit card reconciliation, Manage all catering orders that are submitted, complete appropriate portion of weekly HR department reports, affirmative action and federal reporting.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.
  • 10% travel required to support other facilities

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS (FOR LEVEL II)

  • 2+ years of experience in an HR function or similar.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other standard office programs.

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS (FOR SENIOR LEVEL)

  • 5+ years of experience in an HR function or similar.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other standard office programs.

THESE QUALIFIACTIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

  • Demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate and implement organizational responsibilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to interact extensively with customers, vendors and employees.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information, one-on-one and in group situations to internal/external customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must be physically able to commute to buildings
  • Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.
