Fluids Analyst, Neutron

Based out of Rocket Lab's headquarters in Long Beach, CA the Fluids Analyst is responsible for performing analysis required to drive system sizing and critical design details across the Neutron vehicle and launch system. You will work in the Fluid Systems group and contribute to both vehicle and launch infrastructure design.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

  • Contribute to initial vehicle & launch facility layout with fluid system hand-calcs & simulations.
  • Build and maintain complex fluid system models that can be used during design, build, test and production to anticipate vehicle operational characteristics and drive design improvements.
  • Drive component design optimizations through fluid analysis using both commercial tools and in-house developed code.

YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in fluid analysis
  • Knowledge of fluids mechanics and heat transfer
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical and fluids design principals

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

  • Master’s degree in fluid mechanics-related studies
  • Experience building fluid network models in Python, Matlab or similar.
  • Working experience with cryogenic fluid systems
  • Hardware optimization through CFD (StarCCM+ preferred)
The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Equal Pay for Equal Work Act. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience.

In addition to base salary, Rocket Lab offers a comprehensive total compensation offer package based on individual qualifications and experience, including company stock. Base Pay Range (CA Only)
$91,000$100,000 USD
