About the role

The role of the Launch Technician - Electrical is key to enabling LC-1 in delivering launches at the highest rate of any launch site in the world. You will be working with a tight-knit team of technicians and engineers to build, test and maintain critical launch systems.

  
Essential skills

  • Current NZ electrical licence
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills
  • Computer literate and able to understand basic programming
  • Proven ability to read, understand and follow detailed schematics, drawings and instructions
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Capable of working under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Team player with a willingness to do what needs to be done when it needs doing along with a willingness to step outside skill set to learn and/or assist when required.
  • Confidence in skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to represent Rocket Lab within the local community and to build strong long-term relationships
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and capable of using your own initiative

Desired Skills

  • Previous experience in heavy commercial or industrial environment
  • Experience and strong understanding of Instrumentation and control systems
  • Previous experience working at a rocket launch facility and supporting launch campaigns
  • Experience using LabView or comparable User Interface
  • Experience with data systems and equipment
  • Experience with maintenance and repair of generators and UPS Systems
  • Understanding of fluid systems - pneumatic, cryogenic and/or hydraulics preferred
  • Computer literate and able to understand basic programming
  • First Aid Qualifications
  • Heavy machinery endorsements
