Responsibilities
- Design electrical systems and schematics for automated manufacturing equipment and machinery.
- Develop electrical control panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and documentation using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Design automation solutions for injection molding equipment and end-of-arm tooling.
- Support PLC-controlled automation, robotics, HMIs, sensors, and electrical control systems.
- Improve existing manufacturing equipment by implementing electrical and automation upgrades.
- Troubleshoot electrical and automation issues as needed to support production.
- Manage projects from initial concept through design, installation, testing, and implementation.
- Work closely with mechanical engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, and production teams.
- Help transition outsourced electrical design work to an in-house engineering function.
- Ensure designs meet applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and company specifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of electrical design experience in a manufacturing or automation environment.
- Experience designing electrical systems for industrial automation or custom machinery.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical or similar CAD software.
- Experience with PLCs, industrial controls, robotics, HMIs, and automated equipment.
- Ability to read and create electrical schematics, panel layouts, and wiring diagrams.
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
- Experience supporting injection molding automation is highly preferred but not required.
