Plant Controller

Position Summary

The Plant Controller serves as the financial business partner to plant leadership, providing financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and operational support to help drive profitability and improve plant performance. This role works closely with operations, maintenance, supply chain, and leadership teams to analyze manufacturing costs, monitor financial performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support strategic decision-making. This position is ideal for an accounting or finance professional with manufacturing experience who enjoys working closely with operations and using financial data to influence business decisions rather than focusing solely on traditional accounting functions.


Key Responsibilitie

  • sPartner with plant leadership to evaluate financial performance and support operational decision-making
  • .Analyze labor, material, inventory, and overhead costs to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
  • .Prepare and present monthly financial reports, KPI dashboards, and variance analyses
  • .Lead the annual budgeting process and support ongoing forecasting activities
  • .Monitor departmental spending and communicate budget variances to management
  • .Provide financial insight and recommendations regarding cost reduction initiatives, process improvements, and operational efficiencies
  • .Support capital expenditure planning and financial justification for equipment and facility investments
  • .Maintain accurate product costing and inventory valuation
  • .Collaborate with operations, inventory control, and external auditors to ensure inventory accuracy and compliance
  • .Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting requirements
  • .Work with vendors regarding payment-related issues and financial matters
  • .Develop and maintain financial reports, dashboards, and business intelligence tools to support decision-making
  • .Utilize ERP systems and reporting tools to analyze financial and operational data
  • .Supervise and develop accounting and finance staff as assigned
  • .Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls

  • edBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fiel
  • d.5+ years of accounting or finance experience within a manufacturing environmen

  • e.Strong understanding of cost accounting, inventory accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysi
  • s.Experience partnering with operations teams in a manufacturing settin
  • g.Proficiency with ERP system
  • s.Strong Microsoft Excel skill
  • s.Excellent communication skills with the ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholder
