Staffing Coordinator / Recruiter II (HR Generalist Background Welcome)

Location: Niles, IL

Compensation: $72,500 - $93,600 annually ($35-$45/hour equivalent)

Schedule: Flexible hours (typically between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM or 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

About the Opportunity

A growing and well-established manufacturing organization is seeking a Staffing Coordinator / Recruiter II to support talent acquisition and HR initiatives across its operations. This position is ideal for an experienced recruiter or an HR Generalist who enjoys recruiting and talent acquisition activities as a significant part of their role.

The successful candidate will partner closely with hiring managers, staffing agencies, and candidates to support hiring efforts for both manufacturing and office-based positions. In addition to recruiting responsibilities, this individual will assist with onboarding, HR administration, reporting, and workforce planning initiatives.

This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact within a fast-paced manufacturing environment while contributing to broader HR objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly manufacturing and salaried office-based positions
  • Source, screen, and evaluate candidates through multiple recruiting channels
  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and hiring priorities
  • Coordinate interviews and maintain candidate communications throughout the hiring process
  • Build and manage relationships with staffing agencies and external recruiting partners
  • Track recruiting metrics and generate hiring reports
  • Support onboarding and new hire orientation activities
  • Assist with employee documentation and HR administrative functions
  • Contribute to workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies
  • Ensure compliance with company hiring practices and policies
  • Identify opportunities to improve recruiting and onboarding processes

Qualifications

Required Experience

  • 3-5+ years of experience in Recruiting, Talent Acquisition, Human Resources, or a combination of both
  • Experience supporting hiring for manufacturing, industrial, production, distribution, packaging, printing, food manufacturing, or similar environments
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience working directly with hiring managers
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and open positions simultaneously
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and HR systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Outlook, and Word

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recruiting experience within manufacturing environments
  • HR Generalist experience with recruiting as a primary responsibility
  • Experience supporting onboarding, employee relations, or broader HR functions
  • HRIS experience, preferably Paycom
  • Experience working with staffing agencies and contingent workforce programs
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills
  • Experience tracking recruiting metrics and HR reporting
