Position Summary
The Indirect Procurement Lead is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies across a broad range of indirect spend categories to support business operations, drive cost savings, mitigate risk, and ensure supplier performance. This role partners closely with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver value through strategic sourcing, supplier management, contract negotiations, and procurement process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and execute sourcing strategies for indirect spend categories including Facilities, Capital Expenditures (CAPEX), Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO), Information Technology, Professional Services, Logistics, Travel, Marketing, Human Resources, and other business-related categories.
- Lead category management activities, including spend analysis, market assessments, supplier evaluations, competitive bidding processes, negotiations, and contract lifecycle management.
- Identify and deliver year-over-year cost savings, value engineering opportunities, and operational efficiencies.
- Support capital procurement planning and execution, including equipment purchases, tooling, facility improvements, and infrastructure projects.
- Develop and manage procurement documentation, including Requests for Proposal (RFPs), Requests for Quotation (RFQs), Requests for Information (RFIs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and supplier contracts.
- Partner with Finance and business leaders to support annual budgeting, forecasting, and savings initiatives.
- Research, evaluate, and qualify new suppliers to support business growth, innovation, supply continuity, and cost reduction objectives.
- Conduct spend analysis, cost modeling, and financial evaluations to support sourcing decisions and business cases.
- Optimize total cost of ownership while maintaining quality, service, compliance, and operational requirements.
- Participate in cross-functional projects and new product or business initiatives requiring procurement support.
- Serve as an escalation point for supplier performance, delivery, quality, and contractual issues.
- Ensure supplier documentation, certifications, and compliance requirements are maintained in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Support supplier audits, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects related to procurement, supplier management, and process improvement.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of procurement, sourcing, supply chain, or category management experience.
- Experience managing indirect procurement categories such as Facilities, CAPEX, MRO, IT, Professional Services, Logistics, Travel, Marketing, or Human Resources.
- Strong negotiation, supplier management, and contract administration skills.
- Experience utilizing e-Sourcing platforms and procurement tools to manage RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and e-auctions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to translate data into actionable business insights.
- Experience working with suppliers and stakeholders in global or multicultural business environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and enterprise procurement or ERP systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CIPS, or equivalent.
- Experience with strategic sourcing methodologies and supplier performance management.
- Knowledge of contract law, risk management, and procurement best practices.
