About the Role

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all maintenance operations within a high-volume automotive Tier 1 manufacturing environment. This role drives preventative and reactive maintenance strategies to maximize equipment uptime, improve operational efficiency, ensure safety compliance, and support overall plant performance. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong experience supporting mechanical stamping presses and managing maintenance teams in fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance supervisors, technicians, and skilled trades personnel
  • Oversee all daily maintenance operations including troubleshooting, repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment reliability initiatives
  • Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of mechanical stamping presses and related production equipment
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime and improving equipment performance
  • Manage maintenance scheduling, staffing, and departmental priorities to support production goals
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production, engineering, and plant leadership teams
  • Enforce safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and company policies across the maintenance department
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs, downtime metrics, and work order completion
  • Oversee maintenance records, PM programs, inventory, and documentation systems
  • Support equipment installations, startups, capital projects, and process improvements
  • Assist with budgeting, planning, and long-term maintenance strategy development

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership or management experience
  • Strong hands-on experience with mechanical stamping presses (non-negotiable)
  • Experience leading maintenance teams within automotive manufacturing environments

  • Proven leadership and team development abilities
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage maintenance operations in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with robotic systems (Fanuc, ABB, or similar)
  • Automotive Tier 1 manufacturing experience
  • Experience supporting high-speed, high-volume production environments
  • CMMS experience and familiarity with maintenance KPI tracking
