Key Responsibilities

  • Manage plant technical resources, ensuring equipment and manufacturing processes are properly maintained and optimized
  • Staff technical departments effectively to support operational needs
  • Support achievement of operational goals including production output, cost targets, quality standards, and safety objectives
  • Coordinate with Production Planning/Scheduling to plan preventive maintenance (PM) and required maintenance activities
  • Collaborate with Production Supervisors to develop and implement training programs
  • Provide direction to Maintenance, Tooling, and Automation Supervisors regarding equipment performance, cost control, and reliability
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets and support cost control initiatives
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce cost, scrap, and rework while improving competitiveness
  • Foster employee engagement and encourage feedback while maintaining effective systems, structure, and accountability
  • Improve manufacturing consistency by implementing strong process control and reducing variability in production, quality, and delivery performance
  • Oversee supervisors responsible for daily plant technical operations
  • Address employee relations issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Serve as a backup to the Production Manager when required
  • Accountable for machine uptime, efficiency, and overall technical performance (P&L influence as it relates to equipment performance)
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards and company policies
  • Maintain compliance with applicable ISO and industry regulatory standards
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant regulatory laws and guidelines
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience), typically 8–10 years of related manufacturing experience; OR completion of an apprenticeship program with a Journeyman certification in a technical trade
  • Strong knowledge of complex, multi-step manufacturing processes
  • Experience in structured, process-controlled manufacturing environments with formal management systems
  • Strong working knowledge of manufacturing equipment and facility/building support systems
  • Experience in plastics manufacturing processes such as Injection Molding (INJ), Blow/Stretch Blow Molding (SBM), Extrusion Blow Molding (EBM), Injection Blow Molding (IBM), or Reheat & Blow (RHB)
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and written skills, with the ability to perform under pressure
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Ability to pass required drug screening
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required
