Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations within a fast-paced food production facility. This individual will oversee all maintenance personnel, preventive maintenance initiatives, reliability improvements, capital projects, and equipment uptime efforts across the plant.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership experience within a food, beverage, packaging, or other highly automated manufacturing environment and possess a hands-on understanding of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.

This role will play a critical part in improving plant reliability, reducing downtime, driving preventive maintenance compliance, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the facility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the plant maintenance team including Maintenance Supervisors, Technicians, and Contractors
  • Develop and drive a proactive maintenance culture focused on safety, uptime, and reliability
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs through CMMS systems
  • Oversee troubleshooting and repair of production equipment including:
  • Conveyors
  • Packaging equipment
  • Motors & drives
  • Pneumatic & hydraulic systems
  • Pumps
  • Boilers
  • PLC-controlled automation systems
  • Monitor equipment performance metrics including downtime, MTTR, and PM completion rates
  • Partner closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Operations leadership
  • Assist with capital improvement projects, equipment installations, and process upgrades
  • Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and outside vendor relationships
  • Ensure compliance with all OSHA, GMP, FDA, SQF, and food safety standards
  • Support root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to eliminate recurring equipment failures
  • Provide coaching, training, and development for maintenance personnel
  • Participate in plant leadership meetings and help drive operational excellence initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred; equivalent maintenance leadership experience considered
  • 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience within manufacturing
  • Previous experience within food, beverage, packaging, or other regulated manufacturing environments strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Preventive Maintenance systems
  • CMMS platforms
  • PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley and/or Siemens preferred)
  • Electrical systems up to 480V
  • Mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
  • Experience leading multi-craft maintenance teams in a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, FDA, and food safety standards
  • Strong troubleshooting, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects and drive urgency within operations

Preferred Experience

  • Reliability Engineering or TPM experience
  • Experience improving PM compliance and reducing reactive maintenance environments
  • Continuous Improvement / Lean Manufacturing exposure
  • Capital project management experience
  • Experience with high-speed packaging or automated production equipment
