Senior Environmental & Air Permitting Manager (Leadership Role)

Marietta, GA (Preferred) | ~20% Travel | Day Shift (8 AM – 5 PM)

Compensation & Perks

  • Salary: Up to $160,000 (flexible for exceptional candidates)
  • Bonus: 4–8% target

The Opportunity

Step into a high-impact leadership role where you’ll bridge the gap between clients and engineering teams, ensuring organizations across the U.S. stay compliant with environmental regulations—especially under the Clean Air Act.

You’ll lead a team of talented environmental engineers, shape compliance strategy, and directly influence major industrial clients. This is more than a technical role—it’s a strategic, client-facing leadership position with real influence.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3–5 environmental engineers per project
  • Oversee air permitting compliance (Title V, PSD, NESHAP, emissions inventories, etc.)
  • Guide projects involving air, water, and waste regulations
  • Serve as the key liaison between clients and internal engineering teams
  • Interpret environmental data and drive strategic compliance decisions
  • Manage multiple client accounts, proposals, and project deliverables
  • Ensure timely, high-quality submissions: permit applications, SWPPP, SPCC, Tier II, TRI, RMP, and more
  • Build strong relationships with clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders
  • Champion team growth, performance management, and continuous improvement
  • Help drive operational excellence and digital transformation initiatives

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Environmental Engineering (required)
  • 10+ years in environmental compliance consulting
  • (Open to 6+ years with strong leadership experience)
  • 2+ years of leadership experience preferred
  • Deep expertise in air permitting under the Clean Air Act
  • Proven experience working with multiple clients in a consulting environment
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Emissions calculations (AP-42, mass balance, engineering judgment)
  • Title V, NSPS, NESHAP, PSD regulations
  • Ability to own projects end-to-end and manage competing priorities
  • Excellent communication, technical writing, and client-facing skills
  • Professional certification (PE, CHMM, or similar) required or strongly preferred
