About the Role
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading maintenance operations in a high-volume automotive Tier 1 manufacturing environment. This role oversees preventative and reactive maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment uptime, safety, and production efficiency. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with deep mechanical stamping press experience and strong troubleshooting capabilities across electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading maintenance operations in a high-volume automotive Tier 1 manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, coach, and support a team of maintenance technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Lead daily maintenance activities including troubleshooting, repairs, and preventative maintenance
- Ensure reliable operation of mechanical stamping presses
- Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Coordinate maintenance priorities with production leadership to minimize downtime
- Enforce safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and plant policies
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability and maintenance processes
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation
- Assist with training and development of maintenance personnel
- Support installation, startup, and optimization of new or existing equipment
Qualifications
- 10+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years of supervisory or lead experience
- Hands-on experience with mechanical stamping presses (non-negotiable)
Required Skills
Strong troubleshooting skills in:
- Electrical systems
- Pneumatics
- Hydraulics
- Ability to lead by example in a hands-on maintenance role
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Skills
- Robotic systems experience (Fanuc, ABB, or similar)
- Automotive Tier 1 manufacturing experience
- Experience supporting high-speed, high-volume production environments
