Job Summary
The Structural Engineer will be responsible for leading and managing structural engineering aspects of capital and construction projects across multiple manufacturing plants throughout the United States. This role provides technical oversight, ensures compliance with engineering standards and building codes, and supports the planning, execution, and delivery of facility expansion, upgrade, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support capital and construction projects for manufacturing facilities, including plant expansions, building modifications, equipment foundations, and infrastructure upgrades
- Provide structural engineering expertise for steel, concrete, and foundation systems in industrial and manufacturing environments
- Review, develop, and approve structural designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, external engineering firms, contractors, and vendors to ensure project scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, safety standards, and corporate engineering guidelines
- Conduct site visits, field evaluations, and construction inspections as required
- Support project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management activities
- Review and respond to RFIs, submittals, and change orders
- Provide technical guidance during construction and commissioning phases
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to facility design standards and project execution
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering required
- Minimum of 7 years of structural engineering experience, preferably in manufacturing, industrial, or heavy commercial facilities
- Proven experience managing capital and construction projects across multiple sites
- Strong knowledge of structural steel, reinforced concrete, foundations, and industrial building systems
- Familiarity with U.S. building codes and standards (IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE)
- Experience working with EPC firms, consultants, and contractors
- Ability to travel to manufacturing plants throughout the U.S. as required
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Combination of office and manufacturing plant environments
- Ability to travel domestically and access construction and industrial sites safely
