Job Title: Engineering & Maintenance Manager

Position Overview
Aegis Worldwide is partnering with a leading manufacturing organization in the New Orleans area to hire an experienced Engineering & Maintenance Manager. This individual will lead both the engineering and maintenance functions, driving reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the facility.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a balance of strategic planning and active involvement on the shop floor. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with deep expertise in industrial maintenance operations and preventative maintenance systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee all maintenance and engineering operations within the facility
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventative maintenance (PM) programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability
- Manage day-to-day maintenance activities, ensuring timely response to equipment issues and minimizing production downtime
- Provide hands-on support and leadership on the production floor as needed
- Drive strategic initiatives related to equipment reliability, process improvement, and operational efficiency
- Lead capital projects, including planning, budgeting, execution, and post-project evaluation
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, including capital expenditures and maintenance costs
- Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing maintenance and engineering team
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, production, and leadership teams to support business goals
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (required)
- 6+ years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
- Strong background in industrial maintenance operations
- Proven expertise in preventative maintenance planning and implementation
- Experience managing capital projects and budgets
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
- Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement on the shop floor
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance tracking tools
- Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
- Background in high-speed or process manufacturing environments
