Job Title: Engineering & Maintenance Manager

Location: New Orleans, LA

Position Overview

Aegis Worldwide is partnering with a leading manufacturing organization in the New Orleans area to hire an experienced Engineering & Maintenance Manager. This individual will lead both the engineering and maintenance functions, driving reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the facility.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a balance of strategic planning and active involvement on the shop floor. The ideal candidate is a strong people leader with deep expertise in industrial maintenance operations and preventative maintenance systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee all maintenance and engineering operations within the facility
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve preventative maintenance (PM) programs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability
  • Manage day-to-day maintenance activities, ensuring timely response to equipment issues and minimizing production downtime
  • Provide hands-on support and leadership on the production floor as needed
  • Drive strategic initiatives related to equipment reliability, process improvement, and operational efficiency
  • Lead capital projects, including planning, budgeting, execution, and post-project evaluation
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, including capital expenditures and maintenance costs
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing maintenance and engineering team
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to maintenance, reliability, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, production, and leadership teams to support business goals
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field (required)
  • 6+ years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in industrial maintenance operations
  • Proven expertise in preventative maintenance planning and implementation
  • Experience managing capital projects and budgets
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement on the shop floor

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance tracking tools
  • Lean manufacturing or Six Sigma experience
  • Background in high-speed or process manufacturing environments
