POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Service Engineer to lead advanced troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of CNC milling and turning machines at customer sites. This senior-level role requires deep expertise in both mechanical and electrical systems, including CNC controls, along with the ability to mentor junior technicians and support continuous improvement initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Mechanical
- Lead complex diagnostics and repairs on CNC milling and turning machines
- Perform advanced repairs on automatic tool changers, pallet systems, spindles, and turret mechanisms
- Execute precision replacements and alignments of ball screws and axis support bearings
- Diagnose and repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems with minimal supervision
- Interpret mechanical drawings and part prints to support accurate repairs and guide junior staff
Electrical
- Troubleshoot advanced electrical and electronic systems, including CNC controls
- Interpret ladder logic and wiring diagrams to diagnose system issues
- Use diagnostic tools such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and phase checkers
- Program and repair CNC control systems (Fanuc experience required; other systems a plus)
- Support installation and commissioning of new CNC equipment
Customer Interaction
- Act as a senior technical point of contact for escalated service issues
- Provide consultative support and basic preventive maintenance training to customers
- Build strong client relationships through clear communication and service excellence
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely, high-quality service
Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor and support junior technicians through training and hands-on guidance
- Assist with technical documentation, service bulletins, and process improvements
- Contribute to service strategy and product reliability initiatives
- Lead by example in professionalism, accountability, and customer engagement
- Maintain strict adherence to safety standards and promote a culture of safety
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- 7+ years of CNC field service experience
- Expert-level knowledge of CNC platforms and controls
- Experience mentoring technicians or leading service projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and service reporting tools
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Advanced mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, ladder diagrams, and wiring schematics
- Proficiency with diagnostic instruments and electrical testing tools
TRAVEL
- Regular travel to customer sites across the U.S.
- Occasional overnight travel for projects or support needs
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to bend, twist, crawl, and climb ladders up to 8 feet
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
