Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Spare Parts Specialist to support field service operations and maintenance planning for complex industrial machinery. This role is critical in ensuring that technicians have the right parts, at the right time, to minimize downtime and maintain efficient operations.
The ideal candidate has experience in manufacturing or industrial environments and understands the importance of spare parts inventory, planning, and coordination with service teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain spare parts inventory for industrial equipment and machinery
- Support field service technicians by ensuring timely availability of required parts for service and repair work
- Collaborate with maintenance and service teams to forecast parts demand and plan inventory levels
- Assist with maintenance planning and scheduling, ensuring parts are aligned with upcoming work orders
- Develop and optimize inventory strategies including min/max levels, reorder points, and safety stock
- Coordinate procurement of parts with vendors and internal purchasing teams
- Create and maintain parts catalogs, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and inventory records
- Perform cycle counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy
- Track and analyze parts usage, lead times, and consumption trends
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and improve parts availability
- Utilize ERP/CMMS systems to manage inventory, work orders, and parts tracking
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in spare parts, inventory, maintenance planning, or materials coordination within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong understanding of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) inventory
- Experience supporting maintenance or field service teams
- Familiarity with ERP or CMMS systems (SAP, Maximo, or similar)
- Ability to read and interpret parts diagrams, BOMs, and technical documentation
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Preferred Experience
- Background in industrial machinery, heavy equipment, or manufacturing
- Experience in tool room / storeroom operations
- Exposure to maintenance planning or scheduling
- Knowledge of inventory optimization strategies (min/max, Kanban, etc.)
