We’re seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer to strengthen and lead the electrical design function for custom-built industrial equipment. This is a key technical role on a growing engineering team — ideal for someone who enjoys owning complex electrical designs and making a direct impact on high-performance machinery.
You’ll focus almost entirely on electrical design engineering for made-to-order machine builds, ensuring reliable, compliant, and high-quality electrical systems from concept through commissioning.
What You’ll Do
- Design electrical systems for custom automated machinery
- Develop control panels, electrical schematics, and full machine wiring layouts
- Specify components including VFDs, servo drives, motors, and motion systems
- Create complete drawing packages and documentation using AutoCAD Electrical
- Ensure UL and industrial electrical standard compliance
- Support manufacturing, panel build, machine wiring, and startup as needed
- Troubleshoot and resolve electrical design challenges
What We’re Looking For
- 8–10+ years of electrical design experience for custom industrial machinery
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
- Strong AutoCAD Electrical experience (schematics, panel layouts, wiring diagrams)
- Deep knowledge of UL508A, NEC, and industrial electrical standards
- Experience designing control panels and power distribution systems
- Background supporting projects from concept through commissioning
- Comfortable with ~15% travel
- Independent problem solver with strong technical judgment
Controls or PLC experience is a plus, but this is a design-first role.
Compensation & Schedule
- $100,000 – $120,000 salary (up to ~$130,000 for highly qualified candidates)
- Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- One remote day per week after first 6 months
