Product context
PlanIT is RingCentral’s internal platform for end-to-end project and resource planning across the SDLC: from release planning and capacity/resource management to QA and real-time reporting.
It is built as microservices + micro-frontends, with the frontend evolving on Angular and Module Federation, and a move toward AI-driven insights for planning.
Role mission
Own product value and outcomes for users (engineering + business) by turning needs into a clear roadmap and a prioritized backlog, and ensuring delivery through cross-functional teams in an Agile cadence.
This role requires on-site presence at our office 4 days a week to support effective collaboration and teamwork.
Key responsibilities
Product discovery: gather and clarify user needs; focus on “additional value,” not just task completion.
Roadmap & backlog management: shape and prioritize initiatives (release planning, capacity/resource management, QA, reporting).
Requirements & definition of done: write user stories/PRDs, acceptance criteria
Cross-team coordination: work with Frontend and Backend teams owning different product domains.
Delivery planning: scope decomposition, participation in estimation and planning, stakeholder expectation management.
Solution shaping: facilitate discussions around features (especially across microservices, data sync/streaming, and micro-frontends).
Launch & iteration: measure impact (product metrics), collect feedback, and drive continuous improvements in the delivery process
Collaboration
Backend (Scala microservices), Frontend (Angular micro-frontends), QA, DevOps.
Close alignment on integrations and performance topics (REST/WebSocket; data integration).
Requirements
2–4+ years in a product role (B2B/internal tools/platform experience is a plus).
Hands-on Agile product work: backlog, planning, demos, retros, stakeholder management.
Strong decomposition skills and ability to lead solution discussions with engineers.
English for written communication and documentation (roughly Pre-Intermediate+).
Nice to have
Understanding of microservices/distributed systems and micro-frontend approaches (Module Federation).
Experience with AI/analytics products (AI-driven insights, data visualization, workflow orchestration logic).
