Job Description
SRE Engineer contributes to the strategic objectives of the System Operations Division by providing RingCentral application services and support. Employees in this position perform day-to-day tasks for running a hybrid cloud-based environment which consists of Linux/Windows based web-application services, Authentication/DNS/NTP infrastructure, Public Cloud infrastructure, etc. SRE Engineers also investigate problems with applications and research cloud-based RingCentral solutions. SRE Engineers will perform statistical analysis of
data and participate in deployment procedures.
Responsibilities
● Provide administration, update and support unique components of our platform based on Linux and Windows OS, oriented on Web-applications and RingCentral`s custom developed platform.
● Participate in projects intended to improve infrastructure, integration of new systems and software
● Perform pre-production tests in LAB and Staging environments
● Deploy, configure, and maintain RingCentral application services
● Monitor, Plan and Execute software capacity expansions
● Respond to alerts and escalations from monitoring systems
● Solves any problems that arise in services
Qualifications & Skills
● Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or similar with 6+ years of experience at the position of SRE, Systems Operations engineer or System administrator.
● Considerable experience with Linux systems administration
● Prior experience working in high performing and critical infrastructures.
● Remote administration of servers, network devices.
● Support Applications in k8s environments in EKS, GKE or on-prem.
● Networking: Load Balancers, Routers, Firewalls, VLAN, TCP/IP, VoIP, DNS, HTTP/S, NTP
● Scripting skills: Bash/Shell, Python, Batch scripts, PowerShell
● Good to have knowledge of infrastructure as Code- Terraform or Ansible. GitOps, ArgoCD etc
● Experience in Incident, problem and change management.
● Experience in version control tools like GIT etc.
● Kubernetes working knowledge.
● Experience working with Public Clouds like AWS (Amazon), GCP (Google)
● Rotated 24-hour daily on-call systems support
● Track record of delivering successful solutions and collaborating with others
● Good communication skills
● Good team player
Preferred Skills:
● HTTP applications based on Nginx, Java.
● ITIL - Incident, problem and change management
● Monitoring of Distributed Systems
● Knowledge of CI/CD.
