We are looking for an experienced Senior VoIP Engineer to join our team and take a leading role in designing, operating, and optimizing carrier-grade telephony infrastructure. This position offers the opportunity to work on next-generation VoIP architecture, drive innovation, and ensure world-class reliability and call quality for millions of users.
Responsibilities:
Review and optimize network design and configurations, providing recommendations to enhance functionality, reliability, and performance
Participate with Engineering teams to define and implement next-generation VoIP architecture and scaling strategies
Design, deploy, and manage high-availability (HA) carrier configurations in collaboration with carriers and internal VoIP components
Forecast capacity needs, perform failover modeling, and contribute to scaling initiatives
Diagnose and resolve complex service issues related to VoIP telephony platforms and applications
Proactively monitor and ensure call quality, reliability, and service continuity across the telephony infrastructure
Plan and implement network and infrastructure changes following best practices and change management processes
Develop and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and procedures
Lead device deployments, software upgrades, and patch management for VoIP systems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve persistent issues
Participate in a rotating on-call support schedule
Qualifications / Responsibilities:
5+ years of technical operations experience in carrier-grade or service provider networks
Deep understanding of Session Border Controllers (SBCs) – ideally Sonus/Ribbon, though knowledge of other vendors is highly valued
Strong Linux/Unix Server expertise and experience with related subsystems
Proficiency in scripting for automation and troubleshooting
Advanced knowledge of SIP, RTP, RTCP and related VoIP protocols
Hands-on experience capturing and analyzing SIP and RTP traces to troubleshoot and resolve issues
Strong understanding of MOS, jitter, delay, packet loss, and their impact on call quality
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex technical challenges
Clear and professional verbal and written communication skills
