Position Summary

Realta Fusion is seeking a Chief of Staff to serve as the CEO’s trusted right hand, focused on driving internal alignment, execution, and operational excellence across the organization. This highly visible role partners closely with the CEO to translate strategy into action, improve internal processes, and ensure the company operates effectively as it scales.

The Chief of Staff will work across engineering, operations, and leadership teams to keep priorities moving forward, identify and resolve issues, and enable the CEO to focus on the most critical external and strategic responsibilities.

Realta Fusion is a rapidly growing start-up developing compact magnetic mirror fusion energy systems to address the biggest challenge of our time – tackling global climate change while ensuring a sufficient energy supply for at least ten billion people on (and off) earth. Key Responsibilities

CEO Support & Strategic Execution

  • Act as a thought partner to the CEO, helping prioritize initiatives, track progress, and follow through on key decisions.
  • Translate company strategy and leadership direction into clear plans, milestones, and internal communications.
  • Prepare materials for leadership meetings, board meetings, and strategic reviews.
  • Serve as a proxy for the CEO in internal meetings when appropriate.

Operational Alignment & Process Improvement

  • Drive cross-functional coordination to ensure teams are aligned on goals, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Identify operational gaps, inefficiencies, or risks and lead efforts to address them.
  • Help establish and maintain scalable internal processes, operating rhythms, and execution frameworks.
  • Support the development and tracking of company-wide objectives and key results (OKRs) or similar goal-setting systems.

Internal Communication & Information Flow

  • Ensure clear, consistent internal communication across leadership and teams.
  • Synthesize information from across the organization to surface risks, decisions, and priorities to the CEO.
  • Help manage sensitive or complex internal matters with discretion and professionalism.

Special Projects & Problem Solving

  • Lead or support high-priority, cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the CEO.
  • Conduct analysis, synthesize information, and provide recommendations on internal challenges.
  • Step in where needed to unblock teams and maintain momentum on critical initiatives.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, operations, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in operations, management consulting, strategy, project management, or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with senior leadership and manage complex, cross-functional initiatives.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of judgment, discretion, and trustworthiness.

Preferred

  • Experience in a startup or high-growth environment.
  • Background in deep tech, energy, or science-driven organizations.
  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience supporting a CEO or executive team directly.
