About the Team
Rain’s corporate development team is at the forefront of the company’s expansion into new markets and plays a fundamental role in fostering and establishing key strategic relationships. We take the lead in M&A activities, directing Rain’s mergers and acquisitions efforts throughout the deal cycle, from initial screening through detailed due diligence to documentation and post closing deliverables. We also spearhead new initiatives to drive company growth outside of mergers and acquisitions as well as play a key role in Rain’s licensing evaluation and application process in markets where acquisitions are infeasible or inadvisable.
What you’ll do
Conduct detailed due diligence on merger and acquisition opportunities in diverse markets worldwide, including frequent site visits and carrying out in-person due diligence
Design and create complex asset-level financial models to evaluate acquisition opportunities and assess key equity return metrics for potential acquisitions
Co-design, -develop, and -implement policies and practices to standardize Rain’s evaluation of acquisition targets, including defining key equity return metrics and creating a broadly accepted internal valuation tool to assess acquisition opportunities
Perform financial, legal, and commercial research on key markets where Rain is either active or seeks to operate
Support the rest of the Corporate Development team in connection with contract negotiation and drafting for any acquisition or other expansion activities.
Coordinate internal teams in support of due diligence activities
Stay abreast of relevant regulations, laws, and policies in relevant markets
Attend meetings and events in support of Rain’s corporate development activities
Prepare and/or support the preparation of presentations and reports for key stakeholders, both internal and external
Work collaboratively with Rain’s finance and legal teams in connection with tax planning and analysis related to any potential acquisition target or market where Rain plans to expand into
Perform a wide variety of other tasks in support of the Company’s corporate development efforts
You are likely to succeed if you have:
2-4 years’ experience in financial services, particularly in investment banking or private equity
Thrive on finding practical solutions to complex, multifaceted problems
Top-level financial modeling skills
Experience preparing presentations and other documents that present complex topics in structured and succinct ways
Strong communication skills, both written and spoken
Thrive working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Are organized and enjoy managing a project from inception to close
Extensive deck making and modeling experience are essential
Bonus attributes:
Fluency (or close to it) in a language other than English, with Spanish, Portuguese, or Chinese (Mandarin) being big pluses
CPA or CFA certification
Experience working in a start-up or early-stage company, particularly if this experience
was in a company active in crypto or blockchainCross-border or international experience

Compensation Range: $127K - $155K
