Quartzy is seeking a Life Science Community Manager to foster engagement, collaboration and knowledge sharing in our vibrant community of lab operations professionals. This role is central to our strategy to grow awareness, build trust, and turn lab professionals into loyal advocates of the Quartzy platform. This position serves as a key public-facing voice, responding to community questions, translating complex scientific ideas into accessible language, and creating an environment of curiosity, credibility, respect, and enthusiasm about our work.

You’re also a sharp communicator with a knack for storytelling and a curiosity about how science really gets done. You’re excited to build something new—from blog posts and webinars to online forums and user meetups—and you’re scrappy enough to do it in a fast-moving environment with a lot of autonomy.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the front line of our brand across our online community platform (e.g., Circle.so) and social media platforms, responding to questions, comments, and discussions with clarity and accuracy.
  • Engage with users, moderate discussions, and highlight community stories.
  • Monitor online conversations and emerging trends to surface questions, sentiment, and opportunities for engagement.
  • Develop playbooks, community guidelines, and systems for scalable, consistent social interaction.
  • Build trust and foster long-term relationships with our community audiences.
  • Collect community feedback and insights to share with the Product teams.
  • Collaborate with content creators and scientists to ensure community responses are scientifically sound and on-brand.
  • Write or work with contractors to write blog posts, case studies, infographics, video scripts, product tips, and thought leadership pieces
  • Organize and run virtual events like webinars, AMAs, and community meetups
  • Engage with users, moderate discussions, and highlight community stories
  • Support product adoption by sharing helpful tips and connecting users to the right resources
  • Collect community feedback and insights to share with the Product teams
  • Track and report on engagement metrics across community efforts

What We're Looking For

  • 2 - 4 years of experience in community engagement in a for profit company
  • Previous experience in the life sciences industry
  • Strong communication and relationship-building abilities
  • Comfortable working with technical/scientific subject matter - even if you’re not a scientist
  • Experience with basic design tools (Canva, Figma, or Adobe Express)
  • Familiarity with community management platforms, social media engagement, and email platforms (e.g. Mailchimp, HubSpot)
  • Proactive, curious, and resourceful - you’re not afraid to figure things out as you go
  • Outgoing and able to communicate complex ideas in an engaging manner
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
