We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead or Senior Network Engineer to join our team. The

successful candidate will play an integral role in the design, configuration, and management of our

critical network infrastructure. This role demands a high level of expertise in various networking

technologies and security practices, along with the ability to lead and implement vital infrastructure

projects. We’re looking for an engineer who is passionate about delivering value to our customers in

mission critical environments and enjoys working with cutting-edge technologies.

Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Lead the design, implementation, and management of enterprise and industrial network

infrastructure with a focus on reliability, scalability, and security (LANs, WANs, VPNs, Wi-Fis, etc.).

• Develop network strategies to support manufacturing operations, R&D, and corporate systems.

• Develop and maintain a comprehensive enterprise security architecture that aligns with business

objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry standard methodologies.

• Evaluate emerging network technologies to maximize performance, security, and efficiency.

Operations & Maintenance

• Conduct network analysis, performance tuning, and troubleshooting as needed to ensure optimal

network operation.

• Proactively identify gaps, risks, and issues and work with management to resolve them timely.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues efficiently.

Security & Compliance

• Develop and implement network security policies and procedures.

• Configure and manage firewalls, switches, SASE, NAC, WAPs, and more to ensure robust and secure

network operations.

Mentorship & Collaboration

• Mentor other team members, sharing knowledge and best practices, as needed.

• Collaborate with various teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies.

Project Management

• Proven ability to lead mission-critical, highly visible network projects from planning to

implementation in alignment with global IT policies.

• Analyze business requirements to develop technical solutions and frameworks.

• Manage technology vendors, assessing development and test strategies.

Documentation & Reporting

• Develop and maintain network technology roadmaps and advise on managing future IT needs.

• Improve observability, telemetry, and alerting capabilities for better network insight.

• Document and verify technical content in specialized areas, encompassing best practices,

architectural designs, configurations, procedures, etc.

Other

• Local travel and support to multiple sites as needed.

• Be available for on-call, evening, weekend, or emergency support as needed.

• All other duties assigned by manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work

experience.

• 10+ years of IT experience, with 7+ years of experience in network engineering, and 3+ years in a

lead or senior role.

• Expert knowledge of firewalls, routing, switching, wireless, and configurations with major network

vendors (Cisco, Palo Alto, HPE, Fortinet, etc.).

• Expert knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, RADIUS, SAN, static

and dynamic routing, etc.

• Experience working in a hybrid on-premise and cloud environment.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

• Experience with network monitoring, logging, and security tools.

• Experience with major cloud providers: Azure, AWS, Google, etc.

• Relevant network certifications (CCNA, etc.).

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server, Linux, and macOS.

• Experience with server room hardware, rack installations, UPSs, PDUs, etc.

• Proven experience with SOX and evidence gathering.

• Experience in a manufacturing or lab setting.

This position is required to work onsite 5 days per week to meet the minimum essential duties and

requirements of this position. As an on-site R&D and manufacturing operations organization, inperson face to face interaction is essential to building authentic relationships, trust, teamwork, and

collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role has a range of $142,200 to $216,900, and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other exciting perks.
