Position Overview:
We are actively seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer to lead and drive development and scaling of our innovative cell assembly materials and processes. This role presents a remarkable opportunity to become an integral part of our diverse team, where you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy storage technology. As a key member of QuantumScape's cell development team, you will be at the forefront of multiple technical projects, spearheading the creation of novel adhesive/sealant solutions, advancing materials patterning techniques, and optimizing cell assembly processes. Your expertise will be indispensable in ensuring the successful execution of our groundbreaking initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead R&D and pilot-scale process development with hands-on approach with support of engineers and technicians.
• Coordinate build schedules and ensures readiness of materials, machine and people.
• Perform pre-build test input, collect data, report data in timely manner with technician support.
• Provide timely on-site resolution efforts when process excursion occurs.
• Design and implement in-process quality control with robust data feedback.
• Perform post- build data report- yield, CpK, DPPM, Process failure root cause and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and ensure high-quality outcomes.

Minimum Requirements
• Bachelor's degree & 3+ years (or Master's degree & 1+ years) with industrial experience in development of R&D/pre-production process.
• Experience with one or more liquid-phase material deposition process of the following - dispensing, screen, pad, inkjet and aerosol printing.
• Knowledge in development/application of adhesive and sealant materials
• Experience of performing hands-on work at a clean room and/or dry room environment.
• Strong communication and partnership skills.
• Proven dedication to ensuring workplace safety in both manufacturing and R&D environments.
• Advanced degree holders in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Physics, coupled with a demonstrated track record of technical achievements such as publications and patents, will be given preference in the hiring process.

This position is required to work onsite 5 days per week to meet the minimum essential duties and requirements of this position. As an on-site R&D and manufacturing operations organization, in-person face to face interaction is essential to building authentic relationships, trust, teamwork, and collaboration.

Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role has a range of $117,500 to $152,700, and a final salary will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background. QuantumScape also offers an annual bonus and a generous RSU/Equity package as part of its compensation plan. In addition, we do offer a tremendous benefits plan including employee paid health care, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP), and other exciting perks.
