Quantumscape is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Intern that will be responsible for designing, testing and validating fixtures, tools, and parts to enhance manufacturing processes and to improve product quality and reliability. You will also identify, diagnose, and resolve assembly process-related problems by diagnosing issues hands on, applying failure analysis techniques, and compiling and presenting data to stakeholders.
This internship will be based onsite at our San Jose, CA offices
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop new cell assembly tools and techniques for manufacturing scale-up
• Refine and improve existing cell assembly tools and techniques for manufacturing scale-up
• Run experiments and use statistics to evaluate multiple different approaches and compare the effectiveness of each
• Collaborate with cell component design teams, equipment design teams, cell mechanical design teams, safety, quality, metrology, and production teams to execute your mission
QUALIFICATIONS:
Currently enrolled as a student in an undergrad or grad program
• Strong mechanical design skills.
• Proficiency in any major CAD package, Autodesk Inventor preferred.
• Excellent time management, organization, and communication skills.
• Ability to partner with co-workers and contribute to a diverse team
• Familiarity with at least one scientific programming language, e.g. Python, R, Matlab, or JSL/JMP is a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Work is performed in a dry room, fume hood, lab area, or glovebox requiring the use of fine motor skills
• Sitting or standing for extended periods of time
• Reaching and twisting motions with hands
• Lifting up to 25 lbs.
Compensation & Benefits: Salary range for this role has a hourly pay rate range of $32 -$33/hr.
