QuantumScape developed the industry’s first anode-less cell design, which delivers high energy density while lowering material costs and simplifying manufacturing. Our innovative battery cell technology can store energy more efficiently and reliably than today’s lithium-ion batteries.

Are you passionate about research and new technologies? We are looking for a diligent and skilled R&D technician to support our cell development!

We have 2 openings; 1 for each of the following shifts. These roles are contract/temporary openings with the possibility of converting into permanent roles.

Shift 5: Sunday-Tuesday and Every Other Wednesday from 630am-630pm.

Shift 7: Thursday-Saturday and Every Other Wednesday from 630am-630pm.

In this role you will:

  • Work in the lab alongside battery scientists and engineers on cutting-edge experiments

  • Independently carry out various steps in the cell assembly process

  • Support a wide range of process, failure analysis, and metrology activities

  • Use your attention to detail to identify issues with equipment/materials, and help improve cell processing steps

  • Improve your SOPs to increase efficiency and quality

  • Maintain an inventory of lab supplies, and a safe and organized workspace

  • Keep accurate and detailed lab records and communicate your daily results

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Ability to perform work in a glovebox, clean room, or fume hood that requires the use of fine motor skills for extended periods of time, standing, reaching and twisting motions with hands, and lifting up to 15 lbs

  • You love working in a fast-paced, team environment, and learning new skills

  • You are committed to delivering high quality results, and share our real passion for our mission

  • One year or more of hands-on experience in a lab or process R&D environment

  • Clear written and verbal skills to communicate your observations and ideas

This role is require to work onsite at our campus in San Jose

Highly Desired:

  • A technical degree from a 2-year program or more

  • >2 years’ experience in the battery industry

  • Experience in battery assembly or teardowns

Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly rate range for this role is $22-36/hr and will be determined by the candidate's experience and educational background.
